The central focus of the DaZwischen24 conference was on pausing—on lingering aesthetically in the moment as a space of experience situated between perception and reflection. Educators and learners from diverse music education disciplines came together in Hamburg to explore this moment from artistic, research-oriented, and pedagogical perspectives. At the intersection of science and art, practice and theory, sound and silence, a variety of exchanges took place: lectures, workshops, performances, and discussions that made the potential of aesthetic experience in the here and now vividly tangible. This volume gathers contributions that illuminate these in-between spaces—places of encounter, resonance, and reflection on what remains elusive in music and education. It is intended as an invitation to reconsider aesthetic education as a dynamic process of dialogue, provocation, and shared discovery.
