Synopsis

This volume documents the speeches delivered at two commemorations held by the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg in 2022 and 2023, respectively, to honor its long-standing members, Albrecht Zeuner (1924–2021) and Michael Köhler (1945–2022). Zeuner held a professorship for civil procedural law, civil law, and labor law from 1961 to 1990; Köhler served as professor of criminal law, criminal procedural law, and legal philosophy from 1983 to 2010. Both lawyers, each in their own way, significantly shaped teaching and research at the faculty over extended periods, even as emeritus professors. The publication of these ten speeches is intended as a contribution to the history of the Faculty of Law and thus to the history of the University of Hamburg.
